Try to minimise use of extension leads as much as possible, if you have to use one always ensure it is a good quality heavy duty lead preferably 15 amp rated. What most people don’t know is that an extension lead can lose up to 10-13 volts for every 10 meters in length. This can cause motor burnout, carbon brushes to fail and generally most tools will under perform while subjected to these conditions.
