A pilot pin serves three main purposes: Ejects the slug at the end of the cut, Provides coolant feed into the centre of the cutter and Locates the centre of the cut.

Features:
- Milled channel efficiently supplies internal lubrication to cutting teeth.
- Annular Cutter Pins perform three functions:
- Centering - The pilot pin accurately centres the cutter over the area to be drilled.
- Cutting Lubricant - During drilling, the pilot pin retracts and allows internal coolant to reach the cutting teeth.
- Slug Ejection - When hole cutting is complete, the slug is automatically ejected from the cutter.
- TIP: Check the Pilot pin is able to move freely by occasionally depressing the pilot. Check to ensure cutting fluid is Flowing and that the groove is not blocked. Always ensure that the slug has been ejected from the previous hole before cutting the next.
